Uzbekistan Pilgrimage Tour
This tour will take you to the most important Sufi pilgrimage sites, which will take you off the beaten path and to some of the more unique and interesting sights in Uzbekistan. Start in Tashkent, with the Khast-Imam Complex, and then visit the several mausoleums and memorials in the area around Tashkent. Continue your journey in Bukhara, a spiritual city that’s filled with madrassas, mosques, and mausoleums. Some of the most famous sights are located just outside Bukhara, including the mausoleum of Bahauddin Naqshbandi, founder of the Naqshbandi Order.
Samarkand is home to the famous Shahi-Zinda necropolis, an alley lined by intricately-decorated mausoleums. At the top is the most famous of the monuments, the final resting place of one of the Prophet Muhammad’s cousins. Next stop is Termez, and though the city has a long Buddhist history, it’s also home to the mausoleum of Al-Hakim at-Termizi, who was a religious leader, scientist and the founder of a dervish order. Must visit on your Uzbekistan Pilgrimage Tour
Bukhara is the city where many thinkers, scientists, theologians, and poets lived. One of them is Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna). He is the author of many interesting works in the field of medicine, psychology, mathematics, logic, physics, music, poetry, zoology. “Canon of Medicine” is his greatest creation. Al-Hasan al-Basri is theorist, psychologist, who preached the selfless love of God. It was his distinguishing feature of Sufi ideology.
There are seven sacred Sufies in Bukhara. As a rule the tour starts from the grave of Sheikh Abdul-Khaliq Abd Al Gijduvani, who founded School of the Central Asian Sufism. He always took a view that every imam must have his own job. There is Ulugbek madrasah near the new mosque, where pilgrims can pray.
Muhammad Arif Ar Revgary began to learn Sufizm very early. When he was 19, he taught philosophy. His manuscript “Nafahat ul-uns” and “Arifnoma” are the only written evidences about the life of the famous Sufi. Having read his works, it is clear that Haja Arif Revgary was one of the most worthy successor of traditions and practices “Hadzhagana”.
Hoja Mahmud Anzhir Fagnavy was a famous Sufi of his time. He was engaged in gardening. Fagnavy was the spiritual successor of Sufi tradition. He was an expert at his job carpenter thereby earning his living. There is a beautiful mausoleum not far from the grave, as well as a mosque and a well with holy water. It is very popular place with pilgrims where they can pray.

Download BrochureArrive in Tashkent. You will be met by our driver and transferred to the hotel. Check in to the hotel at noon. Later proceed for sightseeing tour in Tashkent. Visit Old City part of Tashkent with Khast-Imam Complex, where you will see Barak-khan madrasah, Mausoleum of Abubakr Kaffal Shashi, Museum of Koran where the original VII century Osman Quran written on a deer skin is preserved. Also visit Mausoleum of Sheikh Zainiddin-bobo and Shaykhantahur. Continue to Zangiata complex. Overnight at the hotel.
Transfer to local airport in Tashkent. Morning flight to holy Bukhara, holy land of 7000 saints. Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Leave your luggage at the hotel. Check in at noon. Start pilgrimage to Seven Sufi scholars burial places, all of them are located in outskirts of Bukhara. Visit the tomb of Abduholiq Gijduvaniy (1103-1179) located in the town of Gijduvan (40 km away from Bukhara). Continue to the tomb of the fourth apprentice of Abduholiq Gijduvaniy Khoja Muhammad Orif Ar Revgariy known as Hazrat Khoja Orif Mohitobon (died in 1259). This holy site is located in the district of Shofirkon 50-60 km from the centre of Bukhara. Continue to the burial site of Hodja Mahmud Anjir Fagnaviy (died in 1286). Continue to Mausoleum of Khoja Ali Rometaniy located in Rometan district. He was the apprentice of Khoja Mahmud Anjir Fagnaviy (died in 1310, in some sources in 1321). Visit to burial place of Hodja Mukhammad Boboyi Samosiy (1259-1354), an apprentice of Hodja Ali Rometaniy. Overnight at the hotel.
Continue pilgrimage with a visit to the next holy site is the tomb of Hazreti Said Mir Kulol (1287-1370). The last pilgrimage place is the holiest ensemble of Bukhara, the burial place of Hazrati Bakhouddin Naqshbandi – the founder of Naqshbandiya Order, located in the village of Qasri Orifon. Then continue to Chor-Bakr Necropolis, a complex located in Sumiton village. Mausoleum of Aby Khafs Kabir. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning transfer to Samarkand (290 km). En route visit the Memorial Complex of Imam Al-Bukhari. Continue to holy place which is a few kilometers away from this complex, the burial place of Hazrat Makhdumi A'zam Dahbediy (1461-1542), a Sufi philosopher, and a descendent of Hazrat Ali. Arrive in Samarkand and check in to the hotel. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning visit Khoja Ubaydullah Akhror Vali Ensemble, Khoja al Mansoor al Matrudi, Burkhonoddin Margiloni, Bibi Khanum Mosque, Shakhi Zinda Necropolis, where you can visit the tomb of Qusam ibn Abbas, continue to Hazrat Hyzr Mosque. In the afternoon visit magnificent Registan Square, the noblest square in Central Asia, Observatory of Ulugbek, and Siab Bazaar. End the sightseeing tour with a visit to Gur Emir Mausoleum – the graveyard of Tamerlane and Timurids. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning depart Samarkand and drive to Kitob and visit Mausoleums of Sheikh Darwesh Mohammad as-Samarqandi and Mohammad Imkanky. In the afternoon continue driving to Termez via Sherobod and visit Imam Termizi. Arrive in Termez and visit Hakim at Termizi, check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning trip to Denau to visit Mausoleums of Khazrat Alauddin ibn Mukhammad Atari al-Bukhari (son-in-law of Bakhauddin Nakshbandi), Khazrat Khodja Khasan Attor (grandson of Bakhauddin Nakshbandi, son of Alauddin Attor), Khodja Yusuf ibn Khodja Khasan Attor ibn Alauddin Attor (grandson of Bakhauddin Nakshbandi) and Sheikh Mohammad Zahid. Return to Termez. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning transfer to the airport for flight to Tashkent. Transfer to Tashkent International airport.
